The Wedding Flowers Everyone Is Talking About
Posted by Diane on 8th Jun 2018
Compared to Princess Diana, this wedding bouquet was a royal surprise. But the sweetest part was Prince Harry hand picked the flowers for his Bride. Size isn't everything, and the subtle remembrances tucked into this bouquet are impressive. The blooms include delicate flowers such as scented sweet peas, lily of the valley, jasmine and astrantia, astilbe, forget-me-nots, sprigs of myrtle. According to Kensington Palace, the Forget-Me-Nots were used intentionally to honour Princess Diana’s memory on the royal couple’s wedding day. The sprigs in Ms Markle’s bouquet come from a plant grown from the same myrtle used in Queen Elizabeth’s wedding bouquet in 1947.The royal tradition of weaving springs of the plant in bridal bouquets dates back to the reign of Queen Victoria, when she was given a nosegay with myrtle by Prince Albert’s grandmother during a visit to Gotha, Germany.
